2008 (Track and Field): Indoor: Had SMU's best shot put of the season, heaving the shot 11.62m; Outdoor: Took second in the discus at the Bobby Lane Invitational... Was fourth in the discus at the Mt. SAC Relays and the John Jacobs Invitational; Prep: Lettered all four years in track... Has a best mark of 52.78m in the discus... Was a two-time Oklahoma state discus champ... Holds the state record in the discus... Was named the Gatorade Athlete of the Year... Also lettered in basketball three years; Personal: Daughter of Tami and Chuck Spurgeon... Has two brothers, Jared and Trent, and one sister, Mallory... Majoring in Business...
