2010-11 (Jr.): Placed ninth in the 100-yard backstroke (52:35) and 19th in 200-yard backstroke (1:55.01) at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships... Set a meet record in 200-yard Backstroke (1:53.82) at CUSA Championship on 2/27... Took second place in the 200-yard Backstroke (2:02.74) against Houston on 10/23... Helped the 800-yard Free Relay team finish second with a time of 7:30.32, and the 400-yard Medley Relay team (3:51.81) win gold at the North Texas Relays on 10/8... Took first in 100-yard backstroke and the 500-yard freestyle... Won 200-yard backstroke against No. 6 Texas on 2/5... Took first in the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard IM at the Cougar Classic on 11/23.
2009-10 (So.): Competed at the NCAA Championships... Named the Conference USA Swimmer of the Year... Was named the Conference USA Swimmer of the Week for her performance at the Missouri Grand Prix... Took first in the 200 yard Backstroke (2:04.14) and third in the 200 yard Freestyle (1:54.37) against North Texas... Came in second in the 400 yard IM (4:28.66) against Georgia... Finished first in the 500 yard Freestyle (5:02.61) and second in the 200 yard Freestyle (1:53.45) against Rice... Won the 200 yard Backstroke (2:04.10) and the 400 yard IM (4:24.24) against Houston... Took first in the 100 meter Backstroke (1:02.84) and third in the 200 meter Backstroke (2:16.05) at the Missouri Grand Prix, both of which were NCAA Qualifying times... Won the 100 yard Backstroke (52.65) and the 200 yard Backstroke (1:54.98) at the Conference USA Championships... Placed third in the 100 meter Backstroke at the Columbus Grand Prix with a Summer National Qualifying time (1:03.09)
Was a member of the 200 yard Freestyle Relay, 200 yard Medley Relay, 300 yard Backstroke Relay, 400 yard Freestyle Relay, 400 yard Medley Relay, 800 yard Freestyle Relay and the 1500 yard Freestyle Relay.
2008-09 (Fr.): Named 2008-09 Conference USA Freshman of the Year... Claimed All-America honors as a member of SMU's 200 and 400-yard Medley Relay teams at the NCAA Championships... Also competed in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke at the NCAA Championships... Won the 200-yard backstroke at the Conference USA Championships, finishing in a season-best time of 1:55.51... In her two relay events at the C-USA Championship, Svendsen helped the Mustangs set new meet and pool records in each event... Won the 100 yard back against Rice (1/16), with a season best time of 56.66... Also won the 200 yard back against Rice with a time of 2:00.92... Added an additional victory in the event against Houston (1/17).
