TULSA, Okla.- SMU handed No. 16 Tulsa their first Conference USA loss of the season in rainy conditions at Hurricane Track and Soccer Stadium on Wednesday night. Kevin McMullen made his first career start and gained his first career win in net. Pana Vasquez and Ryan Rosenbaum both scored their first career goals in the victory.

Tulsa (8-4-2, 3-1-1 C-USA) started the scoring in the 10th with a goal by Jose Parada, but SMU (6-6-1, 2-2-1 C-USA) did not wait long to equalize. Josue Soto scored for the second straight game when he put in a 13th minute goal to tie the score at 1-1. Pana Vasquez gave the Mustangs the lead in the 26th minute when he scored his first career goal to give the Mustangs a 2-1 advantage heading into halftime. Dane Saintus registered his fifth assist of the season on the play.

Ryan Rosenbaum scored his first career goal in the 62nd minute to give the Mustangs a 3-1 advantage. Tulsa's Austin Neil scored in the 82nd minute to cut SMU's lead to one, but the Mustangs held on to win.

Kevin McMullen received his first career start in net, and made nine saves, the most for any Mustang this season. With the win, the Mustangs are now tied with South Carolina for fourth place in C-USA.

SMU plays their final road game of the season on Sunday, October 25 at 12:00 p.m., as they take on Kentucky in Lexington. SMU returns to Westcott Field on October 31 to host UCF at 7 p.m.
