Jones To Be Honored With Leadership Award
April 30, 2008
DALLAS - SMU Head Football Coach June Jones will be honored in San Francisco on May 1 by the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce of Northern California at the sixth-annual Five Star Aloha Gala. Jones will be given the prestigious Kulia I Ka Nu`u Award for Leadership. Kulia I Ka Nu`u, which translates as "strive for the summit" in the Hawaiian language, is given annually to recognize the actions and accomplishments of individuals who have added to the richness and diversity of Northern California and become leaders and role models for people with ties to Hawai'i and Bay Area communities. HCCNBC President Eric Tao said Jones was chosen because he put Hawaii in the national limelight. Big Island Candies founder and President Allan Ikawa will present Jones the award at the black-tie-optional affair. Form more information on the event, click here.
