Coaching Experience: In his sixth season at SMU... Helped Bobby Chase to All-C-USA honors in 2005 and Emmanuel Sanders to All-Conference and freshman All-America honors in 2006, as Sanders set the SMU freshman record for touchdown receptions... Did a solid job as SMU's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2002 & 2003 before moving to wide receivers in 2004... Joined the SMU coaching staff on Dec. 17, 2001 after spending three seasons as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Louisiana-Lafayette... Helped the ULL offense set six school records in 2001 and is credited with the development of sophomore quarterback Jon Van Cleave, who led the Sun Belt Conference in passing yards per game... Helped Van Cleve break five school records... Has been a part of the offensive staffs at five other major schools... Served as wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at Auburn in 1997 & 1998... Helped the Tigers to the SEC West Division championship in 1997 and a victory over Clemson in the 1998 Peach Bowl... Served as wide receivers coach at Mississippi State for the 1996 season... Was the offensive coordinator at Klein Oak High School in Spring, Texas, in 1995... Spent four years at LSU as the Tigers' wide receivers coach... Also coached wide receivers and was the passing game coordinator at Southern Miss under Curley Hallman from 1988-90... Helped the Golden Eagles to a 10-2 mark in 1998 including a 38-18 win over UTEP in the Independence Bowl... USM opened the 1990 season with a win over Florida State and played in the All-American Bowl that year... Helped Southern Miss to wins over Alabama and Auburn during his time there... Began his college coaching career at his alma mater, Texas A&M, as a graduate assistant from 1984-86... Also served as a GA at Arizona in 1987...
