IRVING, Texas (C-USA/SMU) --- SMU men's basketball will have four games nationally televised by CBS College Sports Network in 2008-09, as announced by the network on Thursday. The nationally televised games include both matchups with 2008 NCAA finalist Memphis, at Rice on Jan. 14 at 7 p.m., and against East Carolina in Moody Coliseum on Jan. 24 at 4 p.m. Memphis visits SMU on Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. and the Mustangs return to the FedExForum on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.
Conference USA has more than 35 nationally-televised men's basketball games are scheduled to feature Conference USA teams during the 2008-09 season. Great conference duels featuring all 12 member institutions as well as non-conference games against teams from the ACC, Big East, Big 12 and SEC to highlight C-USA's national package on CBS, CBS College Sports Network, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU.
The SMU men's basketball team has its third-annual Tip-Off Dinner at Moody Coliseum on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m. Former basketball coach and analyst Fran Fraschilla will serve as the keynote speaker and head coach Matt Doherty will give insight into the 2008-09 season on the Hilltop. Fans will have chance to win a trip to a regular-season road game of their choice. The road-trip raffle includes two trips available with the first winner selecting any regular-season away game, and the second selection for any trip other than the first one selected. The package includes transportation, hotel accommodations, and tickets to the game as well as joining the team in the locker room before and after the contest.
