McCoy is listed by Scout.com as the tenth-rated point guard in the class of 2008 and is a Rivals.com three-star prospect. He was a two-time first-team all-state selection in Oregon while leading Grant High School in Portland to the 6A (large-class) stat title. McCoy averaged 16.5 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals as a senior.]]></description>
