SMU Visits Heart House

Eight Football Players Meet With Kids

June 23, 2006

DALLAS (SMU) - Eight members of the SMU Football team connected with the community in a very special way by lifting young spirits at the Heart House this week. The players spoke to children about the importance staying in school, accomplishing dreams and being upstanding citizens. Players signed posters, took pictures, mingled and embraced the kids.

Two members of the SMU staff and eight Mustang football players visited the Heart House, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing an after school and summer program designed to raise the academic achievement levels of low-income, at-risk, inner-city children.
