White Rock Lake, a man-made reservoir created in 1911 by the damming of White Rock Creek, is home of the SMU Rowing Team.

With a surface area of 1,088 acres and shoreline measuring 9.5 miles, White Rock Lake provides a demanding environment for both practice sessions and regattas on the lake.

The Bath House Cultural Center, established in 1930, houses all rowing shells and equipment for the team.

SMU, the only Division I athletic program in Dallas, Texas, sponsors 17 sports and has been ranked as the top school in its conference for 10 of the last 11 years in the Director's Cup overall athletic rankings.
