| Moderator: Good afternoon Mustang fans - Donatas is in the building, we'll get started shortly. |
| Moderator: Donatas has arrived - let's get started. |
| Laura (Dallas, Texas): Why do you wear number 25? |
DR: No particular reason really - I just thought it was a cool number, no real reason. |
| Ted in Dallas: What do you miss about Lithuania? |
DR: Miss people - mostly my family and my friends. I also miss my mom's home cooking. |
| sesute: ar pasiilgai lietuvos?
(Donatas translates it for us - "Do you miss Lithuania?") |
DR: Yes, of course I do. |
| Laura (Dallas, Texas): Proudest moment as a Mustang - what one moment stands out my man?
Good luck with the rest of the season. You guys are fun to watch!! |
DR: Beating Purdue at the Boilermaker Invitational during my sophomore year. They were ranked (No. 17). I'm actually wearing the tournament t-shirt today. |
| Alan (Colleyville, Texas): I can't wait to see the new scoreboard and other improvements to Moody.
Did you go to the groundbreaking today? How was it? |
DR: I came straight here from the groundbreaking ceremony. It was a great moment for the Mustang fans. The new practice facility will help elevate SMU basketball to a new level. |
| Scott (Richardson, TX): Rack! - What's up man? You have been fun to watch the past four years as you have progressed.
Who in your opinion has improved the most on the team this year? |
DR: I think two people have really improved over the summer and fall - Ike (Ofoegbu) and Jon (Killen). Overall, I think we have all improved tremendously. |
| Nathan (Keller, Texas): What are some of your individual goals for the rest of this season? |
DR: My man goal is to win every single game and make it to postseason play for the first time in my career. |
| Jim (Allen, Texas): Donatas - Good start to the season man. What has it been like playing for Matt Doherty? |
DR: It has been a great experience. Coach Doherty is a great teacher. He has helped us believe in ourselves better, therefore we play better individually and as a team. |
| Tommy: Where are you from in Lithuania? |
DR: I'm from Alytus. It's in the southern part of Lithuania. |
| Mr. Mustang 1965 (Dallas, TX): I've never really been a basketball fan, more football. However, I'm excited about the SMU basketball team this year and plan to attend as many home games as possible! I've been to almost all the home games so far. What do you and the other players enjoy the most about playing for the SMU Mustangs? |
DR: We enjoy competing against other teams in front of our great SMU fans. |
| Pablo: What in particular has Coach Doherty done to elevate the teams level of play? Everyone was predicting the demise of the program and so far you've beaten some very respectable teams. |
DR: He gave us confidence that we are as good a team as anyone in the nation. If we can play together and execute coach's plan, we can win more games than people expected us to. |
| Moderator: That's all the time we have today. Thanks Mustang fans for participating. Donatas and the Mustangs return to Moody next Wednesday, Dec. 13 against Prairie View A&M. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. We'll see you there! |
