The SMU Soccer Academy is one of the premier soccer camps in the United States. Coach McClements and his dedicated staff of coaches direct the Academy. Located on the SMU campus, players will participate in a challenging but fun week of soccer instruction. Once at the SMU Academy, players will be broken into small groups based on age and skill level. This allows every player to improve faster as well as receive more individual attention. The Academy will feature daily technical and tactical sessions, small-sided tournaments in the afternoon and full-sided games in the evening. During the morning sessions, we will teach and correctly demonstrate the skills needed to improve the player's individual technique. In the afternoon sessions players will be taught tactics and play small-sided games. The evening session consists of full-sided games in tournament format. During these games, the players are able to demonstrate the technique and tactics learned during the day. At the SMU Soccer Academy, we strive to teach the campers the skills that they need to improve along with how to use those skills in the game. At the end of the week, each player will be given an evaluation that will provide feedback on how they can improve.
Teams are welcome at the camp. You may register together, and we will make sure teams stay together with the same coach throughout the week. Parents are welcome to all evening sessions.

The SMU Soccer Day Camp is for boys 6 to 13 years of age. It will be held Monday through Friday 9:00am to 12:00 noon. The Day Camp offers instruction to players of all levels. Players will be placed into groups according to their age and playing ability. They will receive both individual and group instruction. The Day Camp is based upon the morning session of our extremely popular SMU Soccer Academy residential program. At the SMU Soccer Day Camp, special attention will be placed on technique and skill development. An introductory goalkeeping session is also part of the curriculum. The staff for the Day Camp will be experienced in both teaching and demonstrating the skills necessary for a player to improve to his full potential. The SMU Day Camp is perfect for the player who wants to improve in a fun environment.
There is a limited amount of space so please register early.
Check-In for the Day Camp is on Monday June 22, from 8-9 am at SMU Ford Stadium Gate #4. (located on the north side of the stadium)
Goalkeeper Program
The SMU Goalkeeper Camp runs concurrently with Residential Camp 1 & 2 and provides goalkeepers of all levels a challenging program that will drive them to excel. Goalkeeping instruction will be provided by SMU Men's Goalkeeper Coach Paul Hason. The morning sessions will consist of detailed training in modern goalkeeping techniques. Such topics include catching, diving, breakaways, crosses and footwork. The afternoon sessions will focus on the fundamental tactics of goalkeeping such as positioning, distribution and communication. In the evening, the goalkeepers will join the field players to compete in tournament games where they will be allowed to demonstrate what they have learned. At the end of the week, each goalkeeper will be given a goalkeeper evaluation that will provide feedback on how they can improve. At the SMU Academy, goalkeepers can be confident they are getting the highest level of training possible.
College Soccer Recruiting Information
Many of our older campers have aspirations to play soccer at the collegiate level. At the SMU Soccer Academy, we try to assist these players by giving them as much insight into the recruiting process as we can. The SMU Soccer Academy employs many college soccer coaches who can answer any questions the players may have during the week. The SMU Men's Soccer Coaching Staff along with the college coaches working at the camp will host a recruiting presentation and panel discussion. The presentation is open to all parents.
